Zac's gotta go his own way... in a van.
Zac out for a drive in a Toyota minivan, which I presume his mom's? IDK. But it's cute to see him slumming it again.

i know. he got a small bump on imdb this week but they need to pick it up or the interest will slip. of course over exposure would be bad too. idk, i'm glad i'm not a publicist.

we should do a wishlist post of things we want him to be in.

lol, bad choice of words. i need to change my mood to dirty apparently.

okay, better - of interviews and magazines we would like him to be on/in. it wouldn't matter now, but it would still be fun.

His starmeter is at 32 this week. That's good but he had tons of news in the last two weeks so I expect it to fall again soon.

The starmeter ratings on IMDb are a "science" in itself. It's influenced by a lot of factors but basically it comes down to traffic on his page and searches on his name. While "other" news do influence the starmeter rating, the most influence has movie news and anticipation of upcoming and existing projects the actor is in. (The Twilight cast defies all rules and is a big aberration). Magazine covers etc won't have any big effect on IMDb (or only temporary).

In short, the only way to get his rating up consistently is for him to get cast into interesting projects (and indies don't count - they have to be studio projects). The IMDb meters are mainly driven by fanboys (and in case of Twilight fangirls), so Footloose and Hairspray 2 won't do the trick. The Jonny Quest movie would be good on his ratings there and also in the coverage of all internet movie sites - their coverage of comics et all is big.

yeah imdb star meter and the movie meter are crazy.

and as they've shown before are not really a reliable test of what well sell. i mean, speed racer was almost at the top of the chart when it came out and it bombed.

internet searches in general aren't a perfect indicator. i mean look at the jobros movie. everyone thought it would do superwell from internet trends and presales but it tanked.

footloose seems to have some interest going into it... not as much as a comic book adaptation.

The imdb meters have to be looked at in their own context. Eg. if the Mall Cop doesn't have a good rating, that doesn't say anything but if Batman won't dominate the meter for weeks in advance then something is wrong.

Actually, I expected Speed Racer to not do well based on the IMDb ranking. While it came up high briefly before release, it was too low for way too long and also the cast rankings were too low. A movie like Speed Racer should have been way higher at an earlier stage, so the box office result was not much of a surprise to me (the extend yes but not that it wasn't a hit).

Anyway, initially a lot is driven by curiosity from casual surfers (like Zac had mid 2007) but after a while that goes away. I don't think Footloose will drive a lot of traffic and interest unless they pull off some spectacular stunt casting.

Some casting news is what he needs imo - and ideally a studio project. It would make me a lot "calmer" too.
