E! News has learned that while the two still care for one another, they "did not have the same feelings for each other as they did when they first started dating."
Our insider revealed that ultimately Zac was the one who pulled the plug on the relationship, adding that "the spark had died."
"It wasn't an easy breakup," our source explains. "Distance and work schedules got in the way with their relationship and Zac wanted to focus on his career."
But while the two may no longer be a couple, we're told the actor still hopes to remain friends with his ex.
Y'all know I don't really care who he dates as long as they aren't a terrible person. I know Sami has her detractors but they've never given any evidence that she is awful or deserved fans' vitriol. On the other hand, these "fans" have given me tons of evidence of how absolutely fucking awful they are as human beings and frankly, how stupid they are too. Funny how that goes.
I don't know what happened and I don't know that anyone in fandom, especially those nincompoops, has a clue what really happened. Evidence is scarce, though it was clear they weren't spending as much time together recently.
But really, just leave it alone. Breakups suck even in the best of circumstances. And frankly it isn't our business. I hope it was as friendly as possible because it is the best for all parties. Hoping for anything else just proves how wretched these "fans" are. And don't even get me started on the people who think it was completely fake. It was clear to me that Zac cared about her. That should be a reason to be kind to her. (As if being human wasn't enough.)
Anyway, let them move on. Let us as well. There are much more worthy things to focus energy on, like all these upcoming release! And hopefully we'll have good news announced in terms of a project I think long-time fans will love ;)
