Neighbors 2 red band trailer & a few pics; CinemaCon

Throwback to when I played the role of Joan of Arc in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. I ended up on the cutting room floor so you won't see my scene in the film, but it was all worth it for these blade hands and the chance to rewrite history as a Joan who jumps off the flaming pyre and guts a lot of men. I CANNOT WAIT for this rad movie ⚔

Mike & Dave Needs Wedding Dates

WASHINGTON D.C. (April 4, 2016) – Zac Efron, Anna Kendrick and Adam DeVine will receive the “CinemaCon® Comedy Stars of the Year Award,” it was announced today by Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director of CinemaCon. CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) will be held April 11-14, 2016 at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Efron, Kendrick and DeVine will be presented with this special honor at the “CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards” ceremony taking place on the evening of Thursday, April 14, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, hosted by the Coca-Cola Company, the official presenting sponsor of CinemaCon.

“It doesn’t get any better than being able to honor three incredibly talented comedic actors and CinemaCon delegates will be in for a great time this year when we single out Zac, Anna and Adam,” noted Neuhauser. “With impressive careers already on the big and small screen, our 2016 Comedy Stars of the Year are sure to have audiences in stitches this summer when “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” hits our theaters.”

As of now, the 2nd part of the obstacle course is scheduled to film on the 14th, so unless the weather requires them to make changes again, I can't see how Zac could attend the ceremony in person. I guess he could attend via live-stream from Savannah or record a video. I don't have any official knowledge about his attendance, just saying don't get your hopes up too high.

What puzzles me is why the association chose these three. While Zac was big for theaters in Neighbors, his other recent comedies have been only poor to mediocre at the box office - That Awkward Moment, Dirty Grandpa. And of course theater owners may revile him for WAYF, which tied up empty theaters, costing them money instead of earning it.

I can only think they want an attraction for the attendees, but if they didn't confirm Zac before the announcement, that's going to be a bust.

Those awards a 100% publicist driven and have a lot to do with movies to promote. In this case, Fox is pushing Mike & Dave, so they got them the comedy awards. If you look at other winners, you'll see this is not out of the order.

The only thing which bothers me somewhat is that they left off Aubrey. Imo, it should have been either Zac & Anna (both are bigger names and have had big successes with Neighbors and Pitch Perfect respectively) or all 4 of them. Adam might have been in Pitch Perfect and The Intern but he was no lead and/or draw; otherwise he's known for TV just like Aubrey.

Re. Neighbors 2 - the trailer is better than the greenband one but I really hope they could pull it off. This might sound a bit sexist but the girls partying just doesn't look that funny to me.
