Round up: Release dates, weekend & Monday filming
From Variety:
Warner Bros. has set Zac Efron starrer “We Are Your Friends” for an Aug. 28 release in the U.S.

“We Are Your Friends” is a Working Title film also starring Emily Ratajkowski (“Gone Girl”) and Wes Bentley (“Interstellar”). Max Joseph directs the drama.

Studiocanal financed the film and sold it to Warner Bros. last fall at the American Film Market. Set in the world of electronic music and Hollywood nightlife, “We Are Your Friends” explores the tormented friendship between an aspiring 23-year-old DJ (Efron) and a damaged older DJ (Bentley) who takes him under his wing.

Sam Richardson joined 'Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates' as the finance. (Deadline)

Warner Bros. probably knows more about the movie business than I do, so I will assume that 1) they think August 28 is a workable release date for WAYF, or 2) they are throwing it away on an open weekend. This flick is neither a thriller nor a comedy, so I can't guess how well it might do.

But DG should provide a lift to spirits on dark and wintry February 26. It will certainly lift my spirits.

Then we can look forward to Neighbors II in the summer, maybe.

I wonder which will shoot first, Mike and Dave or Neighbors II. Anyway, it should keep the Zacster occupied for the next several months. 2015, another three-movie filming year, and it wasn't long ago that we didn't think he would have anything to do.

Wedding Dates will definitely go first. It starts filming in a few weeks. Seth is also currently busy directing Preacher.

The date for WAYF is decent. It's a slow weekend but that's a good thing in this case because original r-rated dramas without many stars are a hard sell, it would totally drown against big movies. And as you pointed out the competition could be way worse.

I saw on a set photo that one of the canvas-backed chairs has "Dirty Grandpa" printed on it, so it would seem that they are going with this title. I agree; it's short, indicates a comedy, and provides some idea of the story line.

All the photos also suggest that Zac and Bobby D are getting along very well. Not surprising on Zac's part since he idolizes Di Niro. But Di Niro has had some friction with young "teen idol" stars before. When a young DiCaprio starred with Di Niro, DiCaprio was so excited that he relieved his anxiety with a lot of goofing off and joking around on the first day. When Di Niro had had enough, he just gave DiCaprio a look and said "knock it off." DiCaprio was instantly subdued and reformed.

Really? That many? Has anyone read all 6,889 comments about the Zac + Sami photo on Instagram? Am I missing anything, or is it the usual gushy babble?

The 357,000 likes I can understand, at least if it refers to the left half of the photo.
