Zac to present at the Oscars
Per an Academy press release (and sort of via Deadline):
BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron today announced the complete slate of stars who will present Oscars at the ceremony. The Oscars®, hosted by Ellen DeGeneres, will air on Oscar Sunday, March 2, live on ABC.

The presenters, including several past Oscar winners and nominees, will be:

....[blah blah blah]...

Zac Efron

“We are very excited that the Hollywood community will be turning out in force for Sunday’s Oscar ceremony,” said Zadan and Meron. “We sought to include a tremendous diversity of stars to represent not only this year’s nominees, but the legacy of the motion picture business as well.”

Other friends/former co-stars of Zac's who are presenting: MBJ, Matthew McConaughey, John Travolta and Zac's favorite toe sucker, Jason Sudeikis.

Also I should've posted this AGES ago but I've been semi-sabbatical-ing it:

That's a very pleasant surprise.

I wonder who put the fix in. I think Zac was on the Oscars before because Adam Shankman was producing. Apparently, Zadan and Meron don't hold a grudge, because Zac's the one who stood them up on Footloose; or, they didn't have a say and someone else put him on the list of presenters.

Does anyone publish a program schedule? I want to see Zac for 45 seconds, but I would prefer not to have to watch the whole four-hour extravaganza to do it.

By the way, TAM fell from Number 10 to Number 13 last weekend, still in 1,200 theaters. It pulled $1.4 million, or just a little more than $1,000 per screen (not very good). I must say Focus did a great job keeping this movie on more than a thousand theaters on its fourth weekend. It's now grossed more than $24 million, which is three times the production cost.

I would like to know how much money they spent on marketing. Then we would know if they were able to recoup the money spent on this movie?

You're right, the marketing and distribution budget is another major factor. Quite a few TV spots were aired in this area (late at night, cheaper ad rates).
