The trailer looks better than I was expecting, so that's really good. I hope the movie holds up to the trailer's promise. But mostly I hope it finds an audience and does ok at the box office.

"But mostly I hope it finds an audience and does ok at the box office."

Me too. Zac could use a success right now, for his career and for his image. In Hollywood and Celebrity Land, success seems to diminish other concerns.

This movie actually looks good!! I'm relieved. Zac is so charming and likeable, but the highlight for me was Imogen Poots. She's such a great actress.

I didn't really like the trailer and nothing really made me laugh but I'm glad they are promoting TAM as a buddy comedy and not a romantic comedy.

Nothing against rom-coms (I usually prefer them over buddy movies) but I think this will give Zac a new audience, more like Neighbours', what is good for him I guess.

I actually hope they will put more emphasis on the romcom aspect going forward. Simply because the target audience are still women who need to be convinced wanting to watch it and if it's too bro-tastic, the majority won't be interested.

Male romcoms traditionally aren't doing well at the box office because guys are just not compelled to watch them (by themselves, in a group etc without being dragged from a woman) - and there is already plenty of evidence in the comments of the trailer articles. They might not hate it as much as a "traditional" romcom but it's simply not enough for them to go watch it. If he can't get the women to watch... it's going to bomb.

I do hope that the bro aspect makes more guys agree to watch it as a date movie (in contrast to eg TLO which many guys just refuse to watch).

Hopefully the cast can elevate the material. I do think the trailer looks better than I expected (which wasn't much) but it's still a very formulaic romcom.

Yeah, this trailer really made me not interested on seeing this movie, what is weird since I even mustered the will to go see TLO (maybe because it didn't pretend to be anything else? idk).

I don't even think they made it look like a male romcom, just an unoriginal dudebro comedy, with the focus being on their friendship and the romance is just a detail to have some angst between Zac, Miles and Michael. Reminded me of Project X and... no thanks. Many comedies with a young group of (male) friends have offensive views and opinions about women and I'm never here for that.

buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut if it is a "normal" romantic comedy, I wish they would cut the crap and promote it as such. It seems that no matter how many movies target at women get a good B.O., Hollywood will do their best to mask them as something else.

Then again, this is just my view of this. Plenty of women people seem to have liked seeing Zac naked the trailer.

It IS a romcom but it's not a "normal" one since it does have very strong bromance components; eg the 3 guys have more screentime than the ladies. But it is not a bro-comedy either... which makes it hard to market and even harder to find an audience for.

I don't think having a more bro-centric trailer as well is necessarily bad thing as long as there is marketing material which caters more to the traditional romcom audience too. Esp when it comes to TV spots eventually.

I hope it does find an audience, no matter which one. But I do think the much bigger potential is amongst women. I mean, not even Don Jon which had great reviews, a male lead which is loved by guys and a female lead which is desired by them, did particularly well at the box office and they were also trying to target the guys with a romcom. Hopefully, TAM has more luck.

I quite enjoyed the trailer. And it made me realize something. As much as I like seeing Zac in a hot & heavy romance/sex scene (and clearly their is some sex in this film), he really is a very fine comedic actor. If you think about it, he's gotten some of his best reviews for the comedies. The reviews always say what great comedic timing he has.

And now for something REALLY important -
(and Zac tomorrow)
