In Peru
I wouldn't normally post this since it was a private trip, but it sort of ceased to be private long ago.

An article from larepublica.pe:
After visiting the Inca capital for about a week, Zac Efron left today Cusco bound for Lima to take a flight that will take him back to the United States. The actor was very kind to all the people who surrounded him at the Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport before boarding the plane. Zac Efron wore a blue shirt and a wool hat of different colors, sunglasses and was carrying a backpack upon arrival at the air terminal. During his stay, the former star of High School Musical did various activities, including touring Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. He also enjoyed the foods of the region, according to some villagers.

I apologize if I didn't source all the pics. Since I wasn't going to post them, I didn't save sources for some of them.

ET did another story last night - video of Zac wading through the fan mob at the Lima airport. All very positive, with "made recent headlines with reports of addiction and rehab" included as a parenthetical statement. Nothing on TMZ.

If this story was launched as some kind of effort to damage Zac's image, it appears to be a big flop (not counting the usual blow-holes on the Internet). All it produced was two extra stories on ET, one promoting Neighbors and reporting what a nice guy he is, and one showing that his fans, even in remote and possibly imaginary places like Peru, still love him to a frenzy.

HA! How'z this for sneaking Zac in sideways/shameless movie promotion?

In-Class Writing Assignment (10 minutes): Read the review and watch the movie trailer at http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1713413/neighbors-restricted-trailer-premiere.jhtml

Do want to go see this movie and if so, why? Explain your reasons for finding it appealing. If not, explain why it doesn't appeal to you, including any issues you might have with it.

I know one student who's argument will be "I want to go see Neighbors because Zac is shirtless and looks hot." lol.

Actually, this assignment has some legs. Why do people decide they want to see particular movies? What in the trailer aroused their interest? How many scenes of Zac Efron shirtless can they watch before doing something embarrassing in the theater?

These are important questions and need to be answered.

My guess the boys will want to see it because of its immature fraternity content. The girls will want to see if for shirtless
Efron, which never gets old on the Big Screen.

I will let you know how it turns out - that assignment is for later in the semester.

"If this story was launched as some kind of effort to damage Zac's image, it appears to be a big flop (not counting the usual blow-holes on the Internet)."

This is very true and something I noticed. I said on twitter the other day, I was very pleased with all the news outlets I had seen this on. Not one of them had ANYTHING bad to say about him. They reported the story and then went on to talk about what a great guy he is, his career and they're glad to see him looking so well. Even on the radio today while I was in the car, the DJ talked about it and then was like "we all fall on hard times but its nice to see he's better now. And we wish him nothing but the best."

Aside from a few trolls behind a computer, most people have been very supportive of him which makes me happy. It seems even people who aren't die hard fans know he's a good guy. I saw a number of comments from random people (who you could tell weren't "fans" of his), and they talked about how great it was that he got help, was mature about it, and did it in private. So I agree, if this was an attempt to trash his image, it didn't work to well in my option.
