Around here, we call them bedroom slippers. Interesting choice. This guy must own 50 pairs of shoes, unless he throws them away after each use. Why go out in public wearing these?

Oh well. At least he went out in public after three weeks. Or are the paps finally starting to ignore him?

they're toms, you don't throw them away after you wear them

when does autroban start filming?
is it still shooting for the fall?

I'm afraid Autobahn may not be happening as of now. IM Global is no longer listed as its production company on Autobahn imdb page.

If IM Global indeed pulled the plug, I'm sure Zac will soon find another project to film.

they have been doing some work on it but jeezbee could say more about it.
Bee: Zac – Details - sitting - reverse chairjeezbee on July 13th, 2013 01:31 pm (UTC)
IM Global was never listed on Autobahn's IMDb page in the first place so they weren't removed. There had been some movement on there as ehs_wildcats pointed out so I thought it might happen after all despite being skeptical when it was announced. However, there hasn't been any real movement recently. The screenwriter hasn't mentioned the project at all for weeks now And while the online production resources for Germany are limited and often members-only... the project should have shown up in 1 or 2 places by now if they want to film in Munich in the fall - and it hasn't. The US production resources haven't had any updates either.

I've also been doing some research into that one point I brought up about getting permissions to close off and film on autobahns. And while it is theoretically possible, I saw enough to reinforce my initial doubt that it would be close to impossible to get the autobahns around Munich closed for an extended timeframe to film the movie. Getting those permissions is seriously restricted - if you get them at all it's typically only on autobahn road sections which are not very busy (like at the end of an autobahn) and have sufficent bypass possibilities. Or on autobahns which are not open for public yet. And even then, you typically get it only for a very short time... like 2 or 3 days is the most I've seen but not a longer time like they would likely need for this movie since the majority of it takes place on an Autobahn. Also, I've never seen of a closed autobahn around Munich which are amongst the busiest in the county and/or an autobahn junction (which features also in the initial script). Idk, perhaps if Chris Nolan would come and want to spend $200m budget, he might get a day or two but this smallish movie? I highly doubt it.

That doesn't inevitably mean the movie is totally off but I can't see it happen the way it was announced. Of course I could be wrong but taking into account what I just outlined on filming on autobahns, I'm not sure the producers had checked on the specific locations etc when it was announced in May where they stated it would all be filmed around Munich.

I guess it would be possible that they are filming it this fall or later but in different locations. Eg. Eastern Europe is much more accommodating for street closure. There is also a fake 1km Autobahn specifically for filming in the northwest of Germany but since it's just a shortish straight road might not enough to simulate all the scenarios in the script, plus they would need to film the rest elsewhere. And then there is the greenscreen which I'm sure would be used for some of the filming but I doubt it could replace all exterior filming on an Autobahn.

Anyway, personally I can't see them filming it this fall around Munich. And while there might be location alternatives, right now I would also lean more towards not happening at all over filming elsewhere. Of course I could be all wrong - this is just based on my online research and speculation; it's not like I have any inside sources. But if it happens, we should be seeing some movement in the next few weeks imo.

I think your first instinct was right -- this project is someone's pipe dream. I will be stunned if it happens. I also saw an item a few months ago about a project to film in the Gulf States (like Bahrain, Qatar, not Louisiana, Mississippi). It also sounded pretty unlikely.

Well, maybe I've been speaking too soon... there was some tweet about someones relative going to Germany for filming with Zac.

That's still very vague (relative of a friend, so not super reliable) and far from any confirmation, we've had things like that in the past which didn't happen but perhaps they are still on schedule after all.

Perhaps they rewrote it enough to put it on normal streets instead of the autobahn? Perhaps they are getting permissions I can't imagine... idk.

It's just funny that this tweet is showing up just hours after my comment. LOL

The irony of life... :) But still, thanks for your research and that you shared with us.
Beejeezbee on July 15th, 2013 01:51 am (UTC)
The lack of movement alone wouldn't cause me to think the project is off at this point. It's more the fact that I have trouble imagining how they could get sufficient permissions to film this on autobahns around Munich. That's why the vage tweet still doesn't convince me that the project will happen. Perhaps it does but for now I'm still leaning towards not happening until I see more (real) movement. :)
Sapphirasapphia on July 15th, 2013 06:44 am (UTC)
Well, we will wait for as events will happen.
And I was wondering, are there any movement about "You belongs to me" ?
Beejeezbee on July 15th, 2013 01:34 pm (UTC)
Yes and no.

There is no movement on You Belong To Me itself at all. Never has been after the initial announcement last September.

However, the director is filming a different movie right now, so even if You Belong To Me would happen, it won't start before end 2014/2015 probably.

Personally I think there were not enough presales or deals didn't close (it was announced while they were still in negotiations) and likely the project won't happen in the initial configuration. Often actors move on after a while (ie get unattached) when indie projects don't get off the ground unless it's a passion project and/or they are involved in producing as well. That said, we don't have any official info if Zac is still attached.

Thank you, now everything is clear. The most difficult thing - it's a wait. I was very interested in this project. But I was a little intimidated by the fact that Harrison Ford is very old already.

off topic
but theres this one girl on ontd for some reason who always brings up zac's apparent black-face he did years ago when he and vanessa dressed up for halloween, is there a reason why she needs to keep brining that up and saying she hates him now?

because some people have no lives, idk lol. that's my only theory as to why people get so stuck on some things and have to be so vocal in a way that changes little. was he an idiot to do it? of course, even if he was just trying to be corbin/chad. he clearly didn't get the ramifications. but the best we can hope, as just internet observers, is that corbin or someone else was like, dude no, just no. because while he can be oblivious about some things, zac would never want to offend.

I don't understand the militant attitude about this. Yes, historically blackface was rooted in racism, but the same could be said of dressing up like a woman - men played women's parts during the renaissance b/c women weren't citizens. Women were owned by their fathers and transferred as property to their husbands. Women were granted civil rights and suffrage AFTER Afro-American men and a woman will become president after an Afro-American man has already held office. Women are still paid less than men. We're the dung at the bottom of the totem pole, but nobody says anything if a man dresses up like a woman (btw - I don't care; I'm just pointing out inconsistencies.)

I'm not a femi-nazi by any means (I'm no Valerie Solanas - I adore men) so I'm still trying to understand the vehemence in opposition.

Oddly, no black people perform in white-face.

I hadn't thought about that. Interesting.

He looks fairly casual, so I assume it's not that big a deal. Still curious what that "documentary" is exactly.

If he wants to make that shirt his new favorite shirt and wear it whenever he's out, I would fully support it <3
