You have to take his "favorites" statements with a grain of salt. Favorite band, favorite movie, etc., he almost never gives the same answer twice. The same applies to women actors. He has said "I have had a crush on her since forever" about every female co-star he has worked with.

I hope Tyra Banks does call him up. Make him put up or shut up. Put his mouth where his money is, or something like that.

I noticed that. He's either well-rounded with an appreciation of different types, styles, genres etc of music or he's a liar, lol. (-; The Beatles and rappers are pretty much diametrically opposed to each other, with the former being intellectual, political, and "deep" and the latter being anti-intellectual, criminal and shallow.

(Went through a phase where I owned all The Beatles albums)

There's a third possibility, that he's really not sure what he likes best and just says what appeals to him at the moment he is asked. I think he likes a wide variety of things (in movies, music, women) and "favorite" just isn't a controlling concept for him.

That's a really interesting idea, that Zac may not know himself fully to know what he likes, and might be persuaded by outside forces to prefer one thing over another without being conscious of the influence.

I can see him being easily led, not so much out of a lack of will on his part, but because he is unconsciously a people-pleaser - he wants others to be happy and he wants to be liked and feel "a part of" everything around him.

To know himself fully he would have to withdraw from the world and spend time in thought, but I don't see him doing that as he is very much constructed "in the world", he is very much within the daily activity of life -

- thank God (for him) that he doesn't approach the world with all these reflective processes perpetually running inside his head, with an internal noise that competes with the external noise for precedence. He is free from himself.

You are delving beyond my meaning. I also could not answer a "what is your favorite" question, regarding favorite book, movie, food, whatever. I just don't think in those terms. So I just wouldn't give an answer. But I'm not Zac Efron. Because, as you say, Zac wants to please others, he does give an answer, but it's just whatever he likes at the moment and that's why it varies with almost every interview.
