Updates: 'Parkland', 'Townies', and TIWILY

So, it sounds like Zac is there, or if not will be soon as both Marcia and Colin arrived yesterday and are in the same subplot as Zac. Also, from various tweets, etc. it sounds like most of the filming will be done at the studio as they are building sets there, so I'm not sure we'll get many set pics of Zac.

Cast additions from Variety, Deadline and Deadline again: Jackie Earle Haley (as Father Huber), Colin Hanks (as Dr. Perry), David Harbour (as FBI Agent Gordon Shanklin), Ron Livingston (as FBI Agent James Hosty), Tom Welling (unknown role) and Mark Duplass (as Kenny O’Donnell).

Distribution info from Deadline indicates Open Road is in final negotiations to distribute Parkland domestically.

Update on Townies and This is Where I Leave You

I don't know exactly how it surfaced but mirandagirll showed me this instagram indicating they are actively scouting locations for Townies. This actually makes sense as jeezbee and I have also seen some very vague casting info and a few other minor production mentions. That said, there are several important places that nothing is being said about it. If there is real movement happening, the timing might be a little tight for filming to happen before Seth has to promote his new movie in June, especially if there is no casting news ASAP. So maybe July? Who knows.

This is Where I Leave You also has had some vague casting mentions and also a projected start time frame of June. So if Townies does film right after Seth's promo time, there may be a scheduling conflict. But again, wait and see.

Parkland looks really cool. The cast is getting huge but that's expected with an ensemble pic like this.

I'm really happy with the Townies developments - this would be a fantastic project for Zac to film this year imo. I hope it works out before Seth goes into promo for This Is The End because then Zac would have a studio project closely after Parkland with just a few weeks in between for some rest and character prep. That would be all kinds of perfect. That said, I'm not sure it'll happen that soon; I would think if we don't get any other initial casting announcements for other roles within the next 2 weeks, it's going to be in summer (well, if it happens... the BTS movements are very encouraging but no guarantee). In which case I hope TIWILY gets delayed enough for Zac to do it as well.

Keeping all fingers crossed. :) I'm liking Zac's 2013 a lot so far.

I really liked that 'Parkland' is a period film, and that Zac is playing a doctor. Well second-year resident. I wonder if they'll stay true to the what actually happened, and not deviate too much. I feel like they'll stay true to the history part, but I could be wrong.

The movement with Townies makes me very happy, especially if they decide to film in the place they've been scouting locations for.

You may have posted this info already, but is anyone playing Jackie in the film? Is she even shown in it?

was wondering this as well weird we haven't heard about Jackie, and of course I am really curious about who Tom Welling is playing (huge fan here obviously), we think is Clint Hill though based on his costume, hope we know soon enough.

Great page you have btw, very informative.

Yes, she should be in the film (she's specifically mentioned in early trade summaries) but no, we haven't heard anything about the actress playing her.

Which could mean an announcement is still coming, the actress isn't a big name and doesn't justify a trade announcement (like they didn't announce the guy playing JFK either although he did it himself) or they want to keep it a secret. My personal guess right now would be #2.

We might hear over the next few days anyway because based on the few things I've read, Jackie was not only in the hospital but even in the trauma room while they were trying to save JFK... ie. she has to film at the same time like Zac and he just arrived.

Good news! Crossed my fingers for "Townies" and "This is Where I Leave You"
This year has started off very well :)

Maybe that would be too soon but I wish TIWILY could move faster and starts shooting in April/May then I think Zac would have time for Townies after it.

I'm assuming TIWILY won't require a 3+ months shooting schedule.

I don't think he needs much time between TIWILY and Townies to rest and etc since it seems to be an "easier" character even though very different from what he has done before.

Anyway, I hope this is like The Paperboy/At Any Price and he gets to do both.

Zac hasn't filmed anything in more than a year before AWOD started, so he doesn't ~need~ any rest until he filmed at least 5 movies back-to-back. Imo anyway.

Those studio comedies typically film around 8 weeks give or take and he wouldn't even be needed for the entire shoot of TIWILY. Shawn Levy has a movie coming out in June (briefly after Seth actually) as well, but he just finished filming that in October so he'll be busy wrapping that up until release. I can't see TIWILY moving forward based on that; if it moves, it will be later imo. I hope it works out for Zac to do both as well.

LOL five movies, you slave driver. But IA. He could work back to back forever and I'd be happier.
