Zac out and about

Not posting the eating ones cause that is veering towards stalkerazzi since I can't tell if the photog went inside or not. And no, per a source and contrary to a rumor that is apparently floating around twitter, they aren't looking for a house for Dylan…

I don't think Zac is a character actor either. I always thought Zac was this generation's Tom Cruise, and that was what made me a Zac fan in the first place. lol

But it seems HSM did bigger harm to his career than I thought, and I don't expect him to get cast in big movies. It's very telling that he wasn't even rumored to be as a candidate for Finnick. At this point, I'd be happy if he can get good indies where he can earn respect as an actor. Hopefully Bahrani makes a new movie and cast Zac in it. :)

Him not being on the shortlist for Finnick was no surprise to me and imo has nothing to do with HSM but all with the fact that he is too big a name (and too expensive). The same applies to other roles where they are seeking some cheap guy and don't need a name.

While I think he should try getting a studio project (doesn't have to be a blockbuster... a comedy is just fine), I wouldn't be bitching if he had filmed an interesting indie earlier this year or at least something specific lined up for this year (not just a vague attachment but something with a good director and financing which will actually happen). It's just really frustrating to me that they are not taking advantage of the fact that Zac opened a movie by himself, esp since it has happened before.

The 15 months without a new project may represent missed opportunities, but they feed into another: With AAP premiering at Venice and both AAP and Paperboy screening in Toronto, he's going to get some interviews, and how is he going to answer the standard question, "What do you have coming up?"

A shrug of the shoulders and the response, "Uh, nothing" is not going to enhance his image.

That's not a problem at all. For one, he has Paperboy coming out in October (and even Liberal Arts in Sep) which he can say. Plus, he has tons in development he can talk about, even if they are not immediate (and lie a bit about the progress if he wants to... it's something many actors do).

Plus, idk if you noticed but the question about upcoming stuff isn't asked often unless the actor does have a prominent project people are already curious about. Interviewers often steer away from it if they see that there isn't anything specific because they know... if it's not announced, they aren't going to get anything new anyway. No point in asking then.

Interviews are least of his worry about not having anything lined up.
