Zac out and about

Not posting the eating ones cause that is veering towards stalkerazzi since I can't tell if the photog went inside or not. And no, per a source and contrary to a rumor that is apparently floating around twitter, they aren't looking for a house for Dylan…

basically it's based on these blinds/rumors in star mag that he supposedly fired his management team because they wanted to do an intervention because he's out of control.

but he didn't fire his manager/agent like star mag said. he did get a new publicist but at the point he did that, he was clearly fine. he'd just finished doing tlo promo then went to cannes and handled it all perfectly fine. and he's been doing normal stuff all summer, going on vacations even with his family, showing up at events, going to work, etc.

bottom line, sure he parties and sometimes with kind of gross people. but there isn't really evidence it is as ridiculous as these people are saying.

that said, he should get a job. he's boring as fuck the way he is right now. plus he's clearly wasting opportunities, just like he wasted opportunities after 17 again. he needs to get his ass in gear. /very blunt opinion

I agree with you especially about him wasting opportunities

Sorry to interrupt, but I have to defend him here. lol

I don't think he's "wasting opportunities". It's not like he's avoiding work in order to party... haha. I think he's just waiting for right roles like Rob did, before Cosmopolis changed people's perception about him and started to bring a lot of opportunies for him.

I, too, find it really frustrating that Zac is wasting youth while waiting for opportunities. Anyway, I'd say that he's "not getting opportunies", not that he's "wasting opportunies".

I don't think C said he avoided work, just that he and his team doesn't seem to be trying hard enough which is what I agree with. Opportunities need to be fought for, they rarely coming to you sitting around.

As a side-note, Rob booked a whole bunch of projects BEFORE Cosmopolis came out though.
annabelle83 on August 21st, 2012 10:48 am (UTC)
Oh, I meant the fact that he snagged a lead in Cosmopolis brought him a lot of projects even before the movie premiered in Cannes. The movie itself didn't really get great reviews after all, but the hype was enough for him to land more serious roles. He really lucked out with Cosmopolis.
Beejeezbee on August 21st, 2012 11:12 am (UTC)
Oh, that I agree with - that Cosmopolis brought Rob some respect even before it came out. Which makes you wonder why Zac couldn't leverage his work with Lee Daniels & Ramin Bahrani at least into one other indie filming earlier this year; they might not be Cronenberg but esp Bahrani was a real get for Zac too.

I'm getting so annoyed that they are letting his buzz die down again without lining up more projects. Even with TIWILY falling apart, why haven't they booked anything for early next year yet?

I wouldn't be surprised if they shop something around at TIFF but if it's Are We Officially Dating? or A Many Splintered Thing I'm going to be pissed. Because I can't see either project being critically or commercially successful, nor do I find them interesting.

Maybe they are not getting him work because he's not getting good offers right now...? I highly doubt they are passing on good projects for which directors/producers want him so bad.
Beejeezbee on August 21st, 2012 10:02 am (UTC)
But unless they are relying on the fact that Zac will truly hit it out of the park with At Any Price (which I honestly hope he does but we know how fickle that assessment can be... remember the article about him before Paperboy about him breaking out and how that turned out when reviews came in?), his situation isn't going to get better. Money/box office is still what talks in Hollywood (at least with studio projects which he needs the most right now) and his leverage must have been the best right after TLO opened; with every month happening nothing, his buzz will go down slowly.

I don't think they are passing on good offers but I do think they aren't doing enough. And it won't get better... who do you think will still remember him in 2014? Because unless he films something really soon, he's not going to have anything new out in 2013.

Also, it's not that we're talking about not booking something for 2 months... we're talking about not booking a new project for 15 months and not filming anything for 10 months. If he could get Paperboy and At Any Price 15 months ago, why couldn't he get a similar project in the last year? That's an awful long time not finding ~anything~ which looks halfway decent, even if it's just an indie.

I think he'd rather take a year or two off than agree to do another chich flick. His fame hasn't brought him good roles, and he doesn't seem to enjoy fame anyway. I think he doesn't mind being forgotten and wants to reinvent himself as a serious actor. But will he be lucky enough to find a good role?

I'm very concerned about how Zac thinks of himself and his career. He can't be happy with his career right now. It seems he's been doing movies he wasn't really fond of. While I don't believe tabloid crap, I think he might actually fall for partying lifestyle if he doesn't find any work soon. I'd rather want him to quit acting entirely than become a new tabloid star. He has a lot of talents and devotes himself to everything. He can find success with other jobs. Acting is a job where hard work and talent don't get rewarded IMO.

Grossy, scary and people who look like druggies, and I second your ass-in-gear comment.

The maggots (personal and work related) who feed off his (career) decay will only stay so long, and when there is nothing left of him to consume, they'll move on to someone else. I hope he realizes this.
