"I expect Dennis to have top billing"

He should, based on seniority. But movie credits are an interesting topic. I'm guessing that SAG may have some rules, and that in some cases credit ranking is used as a negotiating tool. I'm talking opening credits, because end credits are usually alphabetical- and sometimes always alphabetical.

Funny story: The opening credits on Kenneth Branaugh's Henry V are alphabetical, which means that 16-year-old Christian Bale's name comes up first in the opening credits, ahead of big-star Branaugh (though Christian was in the movie for like 4 minutes, and in his longest scene he plays a corpse being carried off the battlefield by Sir Ken).

Did everyone notice that in Hairspray, Amanda Bynes was introduced "above the title" with the movie's big stars, but Zac was not. At that time, apparently, she was considered a much bigger player than he was.

I just hope that Zac adopts Sir Ken's generous attitude about credits. As he tries to establish himself as a Real Actor, second-place credit for Zac is a good thing, shows he just another of the professionals on this project.

Just an observation, I really don't think Zac personally cares about where his name is in the credits. I could be wrong, but I always got that vibe that credit name placement wasn't a big deal to him.

Probably not. But then, he hasn't really faced the problem. Except for Hairspray, he has been top dog in everything since Derby Stallion. Now he's doing ensemble projects with other recognized actors and the question has to be resolved. Dennis + Zac, or vice versa? The Paperboy is a real tangle. Will Zac be Number One, Two, Three, or Four? TIWILY is another mob scene. I hope he doesn't care, because the important thing is just to be in these movies in a major role.
