'Paperboy' Cannes Screening Dates and a Clip, plus BBC Radio 1 Interview
The official schedule for Cannes is downloadable here. Per that, The Paperboy screens in competition on May 24th 8:30am, 1:00pm and 7:30pm. It also has a 'day after screening' on the 25th at 11:00 am and I believe there might also be a press screening on the 23rd. There should also be a photo call and press conference but that is still to be announced. (Note: all times local to Cannes which is UTC +2 aka ET +6.)

No Zac or Nicole but: First Clip - Ward (Matthew McConaughey) and Hillary (John Cusack) discuss Hillary's alibi:

Zac's Interview for BBC Radio 1

Also FirstNews.co.uk (via ZacEfron_News) has an interview with Zac regarding Universal's 100th Anniversary. Read it under the cut, though I want to mention, they seemingly cut part of it out by accident due to the abrupt skip from the Charlie St. Cloud question to something about what Zac remembers of visiting Universal Studios... anyway, read here:
Do you have any lasting memories of being a part of Charlie St. Cloud?

Charlie St. Cloud was a great experience. What I remember about the place was, I got lost tonnes. I stole a golf cart one time, drove up through all the rides, and then security kicked us out. Don’t tell anyone!

You are now the hero of Universal’s Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax. Animation is a new experience for you!

I love animation. I’ve always been curious about what it would be like. I realised that this wasn’t your average animated film. There was a big message that Dr. Seuss realised and, you know, it was very heartfelt. This was our chance to make something bigger than a movie. And so I had a great experience on it. It was phenomenal.

What was it like to see the movie with you being the voice of that movie?

It was kind of mad. I couldn’t quite get used to it. My voice was very high because I had to kind of change it. So I was like: “How long until that gets annoying?” But, after a while, the character was so driven and charismatic that I forgot it was even my voice.

Tell us about one of your favourite Universal films.

Jaws. Loved it, but hate it because now every time I go surfing, all I can hear is [does the Jaws theme music], and it ruins every good wave. But, anyways, great film! I love To Kill a Mockingbird too. Classic. My dad made me watch it, and I was too young, I didn’t quite get it. But now, I watched it again more recently, and it’s become one of my favourite movies of all time.

ETA - I keep forgetting to post this (doh) so I'm going to add it here since this post just went up. Fansite zac-efronfan.org, on twitter @ZacEfronPT, has set up a birthday project for Zac already, giving you plenty of time to prepare. You can send a video or message to them at bdayproject@zac-efronfan.org with your name and country any time up until October 7th. For more details click here.

The BBC interview was hilarious. No one recognizes or cares about Zac when he's on a skateboard. Like how is that even possible? That would make me notice him more. I don't get people.

WHY does Zac have to like To Kill a Mockingbird though? That book/movie brings back negative associations for me.

I like that clip. Boo for no Zac, but it still makes me excited for the movie.

The BBC interviewer lit up when the idea of filming "a day in the life" of Zac Efron came up. And frankly, I would trade 100 of those promo-juncket interviews for an equal time of just following him around on an average day.

If the interviewer is half-alive, Zac always seem to do good radio. I think the absence of a camera lets him relax (there are no radio paparazzi).

Ha-hah! I made my son watch "The Seventh Seal" and "Streetcar Named Desire", and he didn't quite get it either. He said it was boring, lol.

Go Zac's DAD! Force education upon your child! Two thumbs up for you.

I enjoyed this interview as well - the interviewer was a hoot and Zac was relaxed and charming as ever!

"Go Zac's DAD!"

His father is always pushing the poor kid into things he doesn't want to do (like, for instance, community theater).

Zac is the new Vinnie Chase out of the mouth of Mark Wahlberg? Lol

Props to the UK interviewer! Ahhh, too see his list of dailies, even for a short while...

"Zac is the new Vinnie Chase out of the mouth of Mark Wahlberg?"

There are parallels, of course, since both Vinnie and Zac are young Hollywood heartthrob actors. But otherwise, Wahlberg is way off. Zac doesn't squander his money on expensive cars for all his pals and lavish mansions, hire his best friend from back home as manager, or, as I discussed here recently, take flying acting leaps by having himself made up to play a middle-aged, over-weight Colombian drug lord.

Yes, there are parallels.

Zac is SO much more than that frivolous wastrel of a character! Who knows, maybe he gets lots of pussy...you know, like Vinnie Chase.

blah blah

Forgive me for not hanging on every word, as I suspect it works both ways.

Am I the only one who is pleasantly surprised that Mark Wahlberg knows who Zac Efron is?

I'm aware I'm very VERY late here, but the clip says 'Clip 4' *eyes light up at the thought of 3 more coming soon*
