As much as Zac likes bungee jumping, he should some how incorporate into a movie he does.

This bridge is terrible .... There's a lot of rocks ... and the water is very small ...

Kinda odd thing for his media person to post but whatever. Dude's got guts to do that. Props to him.

That looks terrifying - I wanna go.

(That reminds me, dude at work is supposed to set up skydiving expedition. Must query him for status.)

OK, then.

Do I love seeing this video of Zac bungee-jumping? Yes, of course. Good for him having fun too.

Tweeting it, does feel like unnecessary oversharing at this point though... promo is basically over (and don't get me started at that cheap 'Retweet if you want to see the video' thing... I'm still rolling my eyes over that). w/e

Now see, JB, I have to disagree with you here. This is the kind of video I want to see (the confrontation of death is always transformative). Keep the tweenie videos; rollout Zac's extreme sports.

If he weren't acting, he'd be Steve Irwin II.

BTW - since we talk shop sometimes I found a bit of theater theory mixed in with Heidiggerean analysis that interested me:

Bertolt Brecht created a form of theater based in “dialectical materialism” that sought “to evolve an art fit for the times,” our “scientific age” (§45, §23). This “epic” form of theater intentionally alienates the audience from the performance in order “to free socially-conditioned phenomena from that stamp of familiarity which protects them against our grasp today” (§43). That is to say, by including familiar things in the performance and alienating the audience from them (e.g. through exposing the backstage and production elements, not acting with full commitment), the audience can be made to think critically about things that usually go unexamined.

I might have not been clear in my comment.

It's not the video per se. It's that I feel it's getting too much personal stuff when it's not necessary (time-wise). Tweeting that when he has something to plug is fine or when he hasn't shared anything for a while. It's just that we got plenty of videos and 'exclusive' pictures from him in the last month and Cannes is coming up where there will be a lot material again. So why not wait when there is idle time in the summer for something like this? If Zac really wants to get all personal on his twitter all the time, then he should just take it over and run it himself.

ETA: Perhaps I should add it's not as "bad" as the fan video imo, it's just me being... 'OK then... w/e'

lol i think it was a great thing to post but i wish they'd space it out because it feels like they're gonna run out of a backstock of cool stuff to post. unless he wants to start posting videos from bts of paris' birthday party, lol.

Yeah, that's sort of what I meant with "at this point" (I elaborated at bit in my other comment). It's just a bit too much right now.

It's a tiny bit similar to the charity tweet... which was good, no problem with it at all. But as you said, they will likely run out of stuff soon, so it feels wasted at a time where we got so much new stuff for weeks and everyone would be ok if his twitter slowed down a bit.

I am not in support of him doing this. I mean just look at those rock! I basically closed my eyes every time he jumped.

This guy needs a girlfriend.

Not sure which direction this comment is going.
abigail80831abigail80831 on May 3rd, 2012 09:50 pm (UTC)
Haha why does he need a girlfriend? Do you mean so that she'll distract him from doing dangerous stuff like this?
countessm3countessm3 on May 4th, 2012 12:31 am (UTC)
I'll be his girlfriend, and then we can go bungee jumping together! And skydiving! And hunting wild game in Africa! And then the most exciting opportunity yet - we can be missionaries in Muslim Iraq! Oh, the danger we'll experience walking side by side with radicals likely to kidnap and kill us on video.
Zac's adrenaline glands will work overtime!
