Californian-born Efron calls himself an "honorary Australian" after numerous holidays and promotional trips Down Under since he shot to fame in 2006 as the star of Disney's High School Musical movies, while Boston-born Schilling is making her first trip to Australia.
"I'm going to show you Australia," Efron told Schilling when the actors sat down this week for an interview with AAP in Los Angeles.
"I'm so excited. I'm an honorary Australian."
"It depends where we are staying," Efron said when asked where he would take Schilling. "If we are in Sydney at The Rocks, I know a lot of great restaurants we have to go to.
"We should go and check out Bondi and I've climbed the bridge a few times. That's a lot of fun. It's touristy thing to do, but we are tourists."
The idea received the thumbs up from Schilling, who shares several steamy love scenes with Efron in The Lucky One. "Let's climb the bridge," Schilling said.
Efron's crazed fans also have a chance to spot him outside of Australia's big cities, with the actor revealing he enjoys road trips. "The best thing to do is actually get out of the city," he said.
As for eating Aussie delights, Efron plans to introduce Schilling to Tim Tams. "What's a Tim Tam?" a curious Schilling asked. "It's an Australian cookie you can't get in the US," Efron said.
Also just linking to this but there is an interview with Zac at CollegeMagazine.com.
