New Stills from TLO

Ugh. I'm pleased by people seemingly enjoying the trailer in front of The Vow. But I'm still super anxious about Titanic crushing TLO. On top of how well other 3D re-releases have been doing, comments from the sneak peek last night indicate Titanic is going to be stunning both in quality and in profit (again). I don't want to be Rose, crying over TLO's Jack sinking dead into the icy depths of the box office.

Back then last fall, a re-release didn't seem that bad and everyone was getting sick of post-conversion 3D. But now? The early box office predictions for Titanic 3D are huge already and they will likely even go up more.

The way things are right now, Titanic might steamroll over TLO even 2 weeks later. :(

Even best case it will at least saturate the market and hence reduce the casual moviegoers who might just look for a bit romance.

Idk what's the best to do but personally I would feel better if they pushed it back a bit. Counterprogramming eg against MIB3 looks more promising now.

Can they really reschedule at this point, nine weeks out? All the posters and stuff have been blazoned with April 20, the theaters might not want to/be able to reshuffle their schedules, etc.

Let's look at it this way: If TLO does well in spite of Titanic, it will impress a lot of the right people; if it does poorly, it can be blamed on Titanic, not Zac.

The haters will find some way to blame Zac for something, no matter what. Let's assume that TLO finishes ahead of Titanic. I can see the headline now.... Zac Efron Sinks Titanic. And if TLO does not do well.... Zac Efron Can't Find a Lifeboat.

"I can see the headline now.... Zac Efron Sinks Titanic."

From your keyboard to God's monitor! It's a total fantasy, but I hope I'm home when I see this headline, 'cause I'm gonna need to change my undies.

If they want to, sure. I'm not sure though, if they plan on - unfortunately.

Blaming a potential failure on Titanic does only work for a hot 5 minutes. Then it will be all forgotten and people will only look at the total numbers and just say he can't open a movie - second time in a row.
