Standing Ovation for 'Liberal Arts' at Sundance
From Trisk3t:

So happy it was well-received (mostly) and that Zac got a shout out from Katey Rich from cinemablend. Also amazed that Jeff Wells liked it, lol. I broke the twitter responses into "critics" and "audience." I don't know if we really should value one over the other, but to the industry and other critics/bloggers, the critical responses are more notable, so in that sense they do have more weight.

I'm super happy for the positive reactions. And even though there were only 2 comments about Zac (which makes total sense since he has only a cameo-type role), those seem to be positive too.

I'm glad the film was received well. At least Zac got a good mention from one critic even if the others didn't mention him.

BTW, this is what someone said (to the person regurgitating btw) about Zac's part:

technically a stoner is not a straight-edge, but yes his character actually is very straight-edge... hates preservatives, alcohol is for fools, and is all about drinking water, lol. like i said, think hansel from zoolander plus some other stuff - nature, hippy mystic type. imagine rafiki from the lion king were he a 20 something dude - appears out of nowhere, seems to talk in riddles about life love and the cosmos, etc.

for example:

Jesse is walking on Middle Path, confused, lost in his head.

Nat (off camera)
How perfect is the universe?

Jesse looks over towards the voice. Sitting on the grass, as calm as the Buddha, is his old buddy Nat.

You're still here?

Lucky for you. Cause you look like you could use a friend.

Nat opens his arms wide.

Sounds like a dude who lives in Portland, or Boulder.

If I may be completely selfish for a moment, the problem with him doing films like this and MAOW, is that there's a good chance that it won't play in any smaller markets. And then, even if it does show up sometime, it's not in a mainstream theater with lots of showtimes. MAOW finally played at a local "arts" theater where it had a limited run of just a few days, with only a 7 & 9 o'clock showing plus maybe a Sunday matinee.

Nice!I certainly don't mind seeing some flicks with Zac in cameo, or even supporting type roles. Practice makes perfect!
