From Lexi, again:

Okay so... people want to talk about his face. I've never been as keyed up over changes in his face as other people have. And generally I don't even feel it is worth mentioning until we get to January-February 2011 levels of roundness, when his temples take over his eyes. But I do think there is something to be said when it might affect continuity and it might in this case. I still don't think it is as bad as some people do though.

Here is a chart for comparison...

The last one is worst. Though he also looks like ET with his neck retracted, so idek what is going on there.

But even in the one before, it is rounder, enough so that might affect the project. And that is kind of what bothers me. Like I think he should have, but even if he didn't realize or didn't think (cause sometimes we don't) that his face was changing... someone else around him, like his assistant or manager or someone, should've said something.

IDK why it changed, it doesn't take much even. He eats out a lot and and he drinks like most guys his age do. But it is worth noting that while I think he was being excessive at the beginning of the year and it really showed, recently he's a lot less Hollywood club mildew and really much more like normal young 20-something dude. This is especially true when he's been at work and out of LA the past few months -- he ate out regularly and went out for fun once a weekend. That said, bro you are almost 24, think about these things. Everyone knows his face is what changes first and most.

I'll be sad for him if it does affect how people perceive his success in this role. It is an exciting project and he needs all the cred he can get. And I'm sure Bahrani is under pressure since this is his first project with major stars, so he has a lot at stake too. If Zac loses points, either with critics, the public, or the director, on something so easily preventable, shame on him and shame on the people around him who are supposed to be looking out for him, his projects, his reputation, and his million-dollar face.

All I got out of this post is Zac is on set filming and being nice to fans. Fan pictures are always my favorite.

fyi, in all honesty, I see no difference from day one to now in terms of his face. it doesn't look like his face is chubby because there's a difference in his face when he's smiling and not smiling. When he's smiling, his cheeks widen his face, while when he isn't smiling his face appears normal.

Which is how it is with most people because there are more muscles in the cheeks than other parts of the face, so when smiling (like he is), it makes the face appear wider.

Camera Truth
I usually stay out of posts like this but I feel the need to say a couple of things.

First of all the facts of movie making haven't changed in the last 24 hours the camera WILL pick up and magnify any changes in his face just like it does for every other actor on planet earth.

Secondly if the changes are noticeable in the lens the audiences who misses nothing will see and remark on the differences as will some nitpicking critics especially if the film was shot (as is usual) out of sequence (Ron Howard is one of the few directors who likes to often shoot movies in sequence) if the movie is in fact out of sequences any changes will be MORE noticeable because he will look one way then another ten back to the other in scenes back and forth.

But arguing over it or getting pissed with each other is a waste of time and unnecessary. To the naked eye it looks one way but the only real indicator will be the camera lens and for that verdict we can only sit and wait. We may be pleasantly surprised or not. How he will photograph in live action we can only wait to see - he may look fine we can only hope.

Re: Camera Truth
I don't think there's any real cause for alarm. We're talking subtle differences here. It's not like he porked up and gained 30 pounds. Make-up, lighting, and camera angles can compensate, if required. Most movies have a lot bigger continuity goofs than slight changes in a character's facial fullness.

Nitpicking critics aren't the ones that count, fortunately. Imagine, someone declaring that this movie's no good because Zac's face is a little fuller in some scenes. I am tempted to scoff.
