i kind of meant to make a post about it but idk i've been busy i guess :/

most estimations are about 13-15 million right now, i think. boxoffice.com is kind of high because they are going off of social networking more than any sort of polling.

i think it is a little bit unpredictable because it does have a good following on facebook and is doing well on twitter. it's imdb moviemeter number is okay too. that said based on flickster it has not that much intense interest and is mostly female oriented (ofc), although thankfully the interest by age group evened out this past week so it is fairly well split between older female and tween/teens.

personally i feel like despite its strong showing on facebook and twitter and it's ok imdb number, there is not much momentum truly on places like ontd.

plus just judging by my own standards, the universal marketing campaign has been dreadful and the tv spots and trailers are not totally connecting with the audience.

another obstacle horrible reviews. right now, this movie will be lucky to stay above 10% and that counts for something i think.

so basically i'm concerned that although it has some interest, the interest is not intense enough to guarantee that people will show up this weekend.

idk, it's hard to tell. it could totally surprise people and break out but i think with the horrible reviews now that is unlikely. if it does that speaks really well to zac's movie star cred.

basically i think if it does $13-15 million, that is adequate. though i'm sure much will be made of it opening lower than 17 again no matter what, that amount is fairly average for movies in this genre and would not be too disappointing... especially with such a shitty marketing campaign.

if it does under $10 million i will be very disappointed.

if it does over $18 million i will be really happy (and surprised). only a couple movies in this genre have made over $18 million on OW.

Yeah i agree with this, I mean like you said the horrible reviews will probably make it harder for it to be a breakout movie. But im hoping that with the good fanbase that this movie is pulling in and with the fact that its a Zac Efron movie, im hoping that it can break past the 15 million mark.

on a side note, the reviews its getting really depress me, because from everything i'm hearing Zac is amazing in it, but the movie itself isnt that good. I just hope people can recognize how well he does in this film.

well tbh he's getting some bad reviews too. but somewhere awhile ago, i can't remember if jeezbee pointed it out to me or i just read it in a news article or in a review of something like the last song... but even good performances get swallowed up in really bad movies like this. that's one reason i think most of us are so reluctant about the lucky one.

Yeah your right. I mean i dont think by any means this will be a movie that he is praised and remembered for, but you know, the movie isnt doing half bad from the non-critics that have seen it. I think last time i checked it was in the 75% range which was pretty good.

And yeah, im totally reluctant about the lucky one too. But he has been attached to snabba cash, and a few other movies that sound good right? I think hes just in the stage where hes trying out new things. I honestly dont think Zac will agree to sign onto the lucky one.

idk though, like jeezbee said, generally when it is reported like that, that he's in negotiations for something as in the lucky one story, the signing is a mere formality.

i like some of the other projects, yes. but what i don't get is i know some of the other things he's been attached to but didn't happen were really cool and yet he's turning them down apparently for inferior projects. idgi.

Yeah ik :/
I guess the only thing I can do right mow is trust that he will make smart decisions. I mean I will be a fan till the day I die. I think he's an amazing actor with great potential. And in my gut I feel like he will have a long and successful acting career.
