I agree with your sentiments, especially when you've stated cause ultimately we don't really know him at all.

I think some of the disappointment in a situation like this, is due to Zac upsetting fans' version or standard of what they think he is/should be versus who he is now, which can obviously change/grow/evolve.

People will have their opinions, as is to be expected, but at least here (on EHS', I mean) the argument seems to lie within career transitioning- and that struggle which at times can come across quite overtly.

career transitioning is especially hard for him to be sure, and i think he will make smart decisions, yet conversely, he'll probably make just as many mistakes as well.

i obviously missed a very in-depth convo last night...i still can't expand comments, and don't know if its just me?

Again, I agree re: career transitioning and inevitable hits/misses. :)

I'm not experiencing any problems expanding comments. :/
hunny miss (aka lets fead him to the gators)ehs_wildcats on July 29th, 2010 05:11 pm (UTC)
yeah like i mean, sometimes it is hard for me when i see him make choices that i think are abhorrent. especially when he's stupid about it doing it in a way that i can see it because ik if i can see it anyone can and that seems to contradict how hard he's tried to keep something under wraps. though tbh i don't give a shit about him going to a strip club. and ultimately whatever i do have a problem with i try to detach from because he is a human being, he has to live his life.

what upsets me mostly is that from what we do know of him, we know he is better than the image he and/or his people are putting out there so why do that. why put the inferior version out there. idk if they are trying to do it as a career thing or what but it seems like a misstep, one he doesn't deserve.

I know it's not the strip club itself or the fact that he visited one that has most of us talking amongst ourselves here.

from what we do know of him, we know he is better than the image he and/or his people are putting out there so why do that
That idea is what I was trying to touch upon- that we KNOW there is a desire- to do and prove more,(at least on Zac's end as evidenced in various interviews) for a larger audience to be accepting of his talent/presence within the industry.

I appreciate that so many seem to care about his image and the reflection that does have (to what degree- juries' still out perhaps) on his career. It's a valid argument.

Case in point: The JJ website has a sensationalized, provoking headline. Cause and effect. Today more people will be talking about the Z'OMG STRIP CLUB tidbit versus 'Zac Efron's new film endeavor wherein he further shows genuine acting abilities'.
