im not sure i understand the problem. he went to a strip club with a friend, it was reported, he addressed it, the end.

most here say, 'change up the clips for the appropriate demo,' and when they show the clip in the bar, its "calculated".

might it have been an oversight to go to a strip club while promoting a family movie, maybe.... but it's PG13. He is drinking, taking off his clothes and having a sex/love scene with his co-star in the movie.

I honestly don't find this a set-up. To hide the fact that he went to a strip club, to be the "good boy" i feel would be worse.

and it has nothing to do with sexuality, i thought we all moved past that. I dont think the public needs the reminding of his masculinity.

I don't get the douche-vibe that other people seem to get.

oh well.

To me, I don't have any problem with him going to a strip club nor is it about his sexuality. What makes me raise my eyebrows is the timing and the way it's been exploited.

exactly!

he had to comment on it right?

if hes not ashamed. then great. we want him to open up, and when he does -- with someone like Jimmy, who's always made Zac feel very comfortable -- it's a negative.(?) becuase he's ellaborating on the story? I think Zac imagining the experience is going to be like a rap video and then hit with reality, shows that he just curious. have some faith that it was a spur of the moment thing, not some reason for publicity. he could kiss vanessa in public and that would create the same amount of buzz.

I think the timing of him going to one and have the story "leak" feels like a calculated move. And he didn't have to comment on it - they could have talked about other things if he didn't want to; by talking about it, he gives it another news cycle.

I like that he's not ashamed of it, he shouldn't be but he is exploiting it a bit too much for it to be a coincidence imo. He went with Corbin to a restaurant the night before and that was known everywhere too; every of his steps in NY was basically documented, even when he picked up a pizza. It was pretty likely that this story would make the news, and he had to know it.

zac seems to have a definite buck authority streak as evidenced by the bungee jumping episode while filming.

idk, to me it just "happened" and he/they decided why run from it? that's what i was alluding to in my previous comment.

I think there's no way it just "happened" and to believe so is willfully ignoring the fact that he never does things of this nature publicly.

but idgi why would he claim i'm just smarter than my peers in not playing the club game or i'm not going to risk it all for something stupid but then go out the week before cstc releases and do this, in a place that it is more likely to be reported in and during a promo trip in which you know you've been tailed constantly by paparazzi. don't you think he's playing a dangerous game with that credibility he's been building with certain demos through his junket interviews.

it's either douchey because he thinks he's above it all and flaunting it (like what happened at coachella and he still seems like he hasn't learned from) or he's getting stupider. i don't know which is worse.

obviously we see more of it because we pay attention all the time, but every time he does this he risks more and more that normal people will catch on to the hypocrisy and get tired of it.

i have no issue with them changing up the clips. it is calculated but that is exactly what they should do but didn't just airing the same trailer in front of inception. make it appropriate for the male demo, at least they cottoned on to that once during this promo.

and the thing is i don't think he's a douche (yet), i still love him and though he's made mistakes, i think he is a genuine, kind and hard-working person for the most part. i think the image he is portraying of himself though is becoming douchier, dangerously so. he is so much more than that, why portray himself as that just to play a game to get more people to like him. people will like him when he's himself, it just takes time.

I'm not trying to sound confrontational with this, I honestly want to know because tbh the reaction to this has boggled my mind. Like... to me it just seems like what he's been saying, which is that he's going to live his life, that's what he's been trying to do, find the balance between life and career. I don't know, I really don't see him thinking he's above it all or being stupid, it just seems like he doesn't want to let his career get in the way of him experiencing things. Could the timing have been better, absolutely, but it seems like one of those things where he just saw the opportunity and said you know what? I never see Corbin, we're celebrating, let's do it. If that makes sense.

ia that he is going to live his life and that's fine. i'm not opposed to that. and i'm not trying to judge the things he does privately. ofc i have feelings about some things but yk i mean, whatever at some point we all have to accept... his life, his choices and we can't impose certain ideas on him. or if we do, we have to be open to the fact that we may be wrong. i am judging how he and his team are having him represented publicly especially when in the past they have been (minus a few makeup disasters) pretty savvy about representing him.

the conflict for me is that in this round of interviews i feel like he has become more vocal about how he is smarter than his peers and whatever about partying in private. so for him to completely contradict that (and most previous behavioral patterns) at a moment when there is the highest amount of attention on him just seems odd and dumb. and i don't get it. so i'm struggling to understand and i guess talking it out is one way to do it.

fine if he wants to do this whenever, i am not judging him for anything related directly to his private behavior because i really could care less about it... he has to live his life and do his thing, i totally get that. but maybe he shouldn't say things like he's smarter about this stuff than other people, etc. that's the part where if he contradicts himself enough people i think would get tired of it and think he's acting full of himself, etc.

to me, this is only one example recently where what he's saying and what he's doing ends up being contradictory and idk, it kind of grates because what he's doing is perfectly fine in and of itself... he's just being him. like i guess i don't get why they are trying so hard to represent him as one thing when what he is, from every indication we have, is better and cooler than that?

I feel like an idiot for not knowing what you're talking about when you keep referencing Coachella. I know he went, but did something happen there or afterward or before?

Sorry, I'm just confused for some reason. I need some caffeine very badly.
