Zac Efron to present at the Oscars  
From a press release at Oscars.org:

Miley Cyrus, Zac Efron, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart will present at the 82nd Academy Awards®, telecast producers Adam Shankman and Bill Mechanic announced today. This will be Cyrus and Efron’s second appearance, and Lautner and Stewart’s debut on an Academy Awards telecast.

Efron is currently working on “Charlie St. Cloud,” scheduled to be released later this year. His other film credits include “Hairspray,” “High School Musical 3: Senior Year,” “17 Again” and “Me and Orson Welles.”

Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2009 will be presented on Sunday, March 7, 2010, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center®, and televised live by the ABC Television Network beginning at 5 p.m. PT/ 8 p.m. ET. controversy
A lot of controversy started because the musical director said this is going to be an Oscars for the MTV generation or something to that effect and it brings up a lot of questionable stuff for people.

I would have preferred him being mentioned with some other presenters. He's well past Taylor and Miley and needs to be recognized for that.

Maybe the request for Zac to be a presenter came directly from Andy Shankman *shrug*

I adore 'old hollywood' and the actors and movies that have come from long ago. I hate to see that slipping away more and more. One of the reasons I admire Zac is because he likes and repects 'old hollywood' too.
