i don't care so much about the frequency but more that he's lumped with other tween/teen draws that film nerds hate. he's been working hard to get over that perception and this kind of pulls him back a bit. but oh well, his choice, lol.

I didn't want to say that directly but I totally agree. Plus, so far there is already a lot of skepticism (and criticism) about this years show and I don't want him associated with it if it goes wrong.

But it was his choice and I'll keep my fingers crossed for a good show.

I think you're putting too much into it. He's just presenting. Last year he survived a widely criticized lukewarm production number and walked away unscathed. he'll be fine.

I sure hope you're right. :)

I'm just wary of this years telecast after everything I've been reading.

what have you been reading???

i think with the hosts they have this year, its poised to be an excellent show!

and i don't think its a bad thing that zac attends 2 years in a row either! especially b/c last year he performed, while this year he is a presenter.

can't wait to see if he has any further news on his upcoming projects!!!!?????

also, i saw those twitters to adam? what do we make of those???? its rather confusing :)

It's unfortunate he has no control of being lumped with them. I don't think he is even in the same 'class' as them anymore. He's moved on - or is trying to -but most of the press is still linking him to his Disney days instead of the MAOW and CSC roles - but that is in part to their naivete.

And knowing Zac and how gracious he is, I'm sure he feels extremely honored to be asked :)

yeah i'm sure he is honored. and though i am a bit wary of it, i can't not be excited because it is awesome whenever he gets to be a part of the oscars and even just to get to be around so many people he admires. knowing he'll show up looking stunning in a tux helps too, lol.

IA and I was thinking the same thing about him meeting / seeing people he admires. And seeing him in the tux is just the icing on the cake :p

A lot of controversy started because the musical director said this is going to be an Oscars for the MTV generation or something to that effect and it brings up a lot of questionable stuff for people.

I would have preferred him being mentioned with some other presenters. He's well past Taylor and Miley and needs to be recognized for that.

Re: controversy
I came across this article that basically states that they want the Oscars to appear more youthful http://adage.com/madisonandvine/article?article_id=141978

Maybe the request for Zac to be a presenter came directly from Andy Shankman *shrug*

I adore 'old hollywood' and the actors and movies that have come from long ago. I hate to see that slipping away more and more. One of the reasons I admire Zac is because he likes and repects 'old hollywood' too.
