I haven't read the book, but for me, Richard comes across pretty head over heels for Sonja (especially in that scene where he says he'd fight for her)- it's like puppy love. When Sonja says "Cute" in this clip, that kind of encompasses how I see their onscreen relationship/coupling coming across- smitten by charm, but by no means in love. (IDK if that made any sense...)

I get what you're saying. I just hope maybe it all makes more sense in the full movie context? (Because I want to like this film) But, I see how as it stands- this particular scene, and maybe even others involving the 2, could virtually have been shot without the other. :/

I like what they're both bringing to the film as individual actors, but together- I'm not feeling that genuine 'spark' that makes me believe in the story being told versus 'you just happen to be paired together in this film'.
