Does this mean we'll get a trailer soon? Please?
From People's Couple Watch:

Also in Vancouver: Zac Efron celebrated the wrap of his movie The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud with girlfriend Vanessa Hudgens – and his castmates – at the Watermark Restaurant and Lounge. The duo cuddled and shared kisses on the patio, looking out at the ocean as Hudgens sat on her beau's lap. At around midnight, the revelers got a sneak peek at the movie trailer – and a blooper reel which got everyone laughing.

I can't wait to see the trailer!

I'm also a teeny bit jealous they got to see the blooper reel. I'm sure whenever we get to see it, it will be sanitized quite a bit. What I wouldn't give to see the uncensored version, lol.

Last night I had a dream that you were over at my house, like, hanging out for a weekend. And since obviously I have no idea what you look like, my brain inserted a random 20something girl that I wouldn't be able to describe now that I've woken up.

We were planning a Zac party for the friends of your journal, and Zac was going to show up. Heh.

lol, that sounds like an awesome party. we need to get on that.

i don't often dream, but i have dreamt of ontd people and had to make up people to fill in for them since the only person i really know what they look like is aurosan.

Is it that you just don't remember your dreams? Bummer! I'm one of those people who can be conscious enough to realize I'm dreaming and (to a degree) switch things up. I've also woken up, not been finished with a dream yet, and forced myself to go back to bed to conclude what happened, lol.

Lol omg, so random: like about a year ago, my friend vilain_garcon had a dream that we were in a theater watching HSM3. Also weird because he doesn't know what I look like.

I always think that with bloopers! And a trailer would be awesome. I've never followed a movie production this closely I think, lol, is there an average length for how long post-prod takes (assuming they have a distributor) or is it always anyone's guess?

This is a studio film so they don't have to worry about finding a distributor. Universal hasn't set a release date yet though.

Post-production time depends on a variety of things... mostly CGI and how fast they want it done. 17 Again was probably done with post-prod in about 4 months, HSM3 was done in about 2 months. 2 months is really rushed, but they wanted it out ASAP.

A big factor is CGI. I don't know how much of this will be needed in Charlie St. Cloud. Probably some but not a whole lot. But, for instance, the last Indiana Jones took about 6 months in post prod... and that is after filming finished. A lot of big productions will have teams already working on cgi while filming is still happening. It all depends on how fast they want it out.

At any rate, they probably don't have to worry about a tight timeline cause this probably won't get released till summer.

Agreed! I cannot wait to see the trailer! And they need to be nice to us and show a bit of the blooper reel too. I love those things

surprised they were able to put a trailer together so quickly... they must be editing as they go.

Great to hear that the party went well.

I don't want to be a spoilsport but does anyone else also think it's a bit early for them to have supposedly a trailer already? Even if it's only a teaser?

Showing the bloopers - absolutely. Showing clips or even a few scenes cut together for fun - I can believe that too but I'm a bit skeptical that they would already work on/have a trailer when there is no obvious rush with a release date.

Putting a (teaser) trailer together that quickly is normally only done for blockbusters with huge promo budgets and as much as I love CStC, it's not a blockbuster. It wouldn't be the first time a "source" got something wrong; it's not that it comes from an interview or official statement.

I would love to be wrong but I don't expect Universal to be that quick. I like Universal and it's a good studio but their release policy (incl. start of promotion) is the one thing I'm not thrilled with.

i kind of feel like anything is possible. a 30 second trailer wouldn't really be that hard to put together and depending on the concept it could be really easy. it may not have been intended for public consumption though... like a rough cut. but it could also be bullshit. idk.

eta: i also meant to mention, i saw that tweet by that design/prod company and i'm not really impressed with the logos on their site. i wonder what they are working on for cstc.

The guy has tweeted actually a bit about work (just didn't mention which movie until now). I've put it all together and was about to post it when I saw your edit. Here it goes:

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Not sure what his job really is. Sometimes it sounds like he wasn't really doing any design work but mostly crafty things but not logo design stuff. idk.
