This is total speculation - The Sitter
Okay, so the other day, Jeezbee pointed out that Zac's filmography on Baseline/StudioSystem (the free version since we're outsiders, lol) mentions that he is cast in a film coming up called The Sitter:

Now this is to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt because this is the same system that had him listed as being a part of that project Kent State aka Ohio. And this is also the system that lists him as participating in Full Metal Panic which, according to Zac, was just one meeting and probably won't happen.

But just for kicks, some information on who else is involved with The Sitter and what it is about.

According to IMDB Pro, it is a 20th Century Fox Film, produced by Michael de Luca and written by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. It is to be directed by Jonathan Levine, whose most recent credit is Sundance audience favorite, The Wackness.

According to firstshowing.net, The Sitter can be:

Described as Adventures in Babysitting meets Superbad, The Sitter follows a college student, suspended for the semester and living at home with his mom, who has a night to remember when he gets talked into baby-sitting the eccentric kids next door — two boys and a wild 8-year-old girl.

I know, another film that is essentially an 80s remake?

But I have to admit, based on this (super-spoiler-filled) review of the script, it sounds pretty funny. Instead of the protagonist going out on a rescue mission to save her best friend, the protagonist here, loser Noah, goes out on a drug-trafficking mission seeking coke for his demanding girlfriend... a girl who won't even admit (on Facebook anyway) that the two of them are in a relationship. Yeah, that's gonna end well, lol. The kids are troubled, but their problems surprisingly go against type and expectations. The parents, as per usual, are oblivious.

Dramatic roles are great, but they aren't the only way to gain respect as an actor. Zac is pretty good at playing the comedic foil, so I don't think he should neglect that. No sense not playing to established strengths. Just so long as he gets some challenges too.

I am worried whether it will come across as too much like Adventures in Babysitting, but it sounds much more depraved than that. It is one thing to get stuck having to escape a chop shop with your wards quite accidentally but another to willingly take them on a drug run.

And can he play a loser? I absolutely think so. Though I'd be willing to bet, as scripted, loser Noah is not supposed to be half as attractive as Zac is. Clearly, beautiful people can be losers at love and life too but I'm sure that's not what they had in mind. Either they can change that or they can ugly him up a bit. Maybe. LOL.

Again all this is speculation and has a very (VERY) limited chance of actually happening. But this was fun to look at.

I've been thinking that its very probable that Zac has another project lined up after CSC, other than the few he has in devolpment. Not sure if I'm thrilled about the sound of this one though.

I was worried. But the guy who reviewed the script thought it was impressive and that made me less worried.

And tbh, though Spin won't be happening for awhile, if ever, I like this project more than Spin. I started reading Spin and just can't get into it. I think it is an interesting premise, but I think it is TOO pop culture-y, not witty enough and, maybe, mean without purpose? Maybe if I can bring myself to finish it, I'll like it more.

Yeah I didn't think Spin would happen for a while.

But tbh books and the movies they get made into often are different beasts altogether. If they got a good writer the script could be ok.

If Zac is doing this project, when do you think they would film? What is the status?

It's true, if they get a good writer Spin could be okay. But I think it will be an uphill battle which is just never a great place to start. Again this is all my opinion and I haven't even finished it but so far there are a lot of time-sensitive pop culture references (moreso than The Devil Wears Prada) so if this takes a couple years to get off the ground, those will have to be updated or it will be boring and unfunny. That's one of the problems, imo.

For The Sitter, the script is finished, the director is hired so it depends on when people free up and how quickly they move into scouting and casting. The director has one other project in development but it seems to be stuck in development hell (possibly) so he seems free. And if Zac is doing this, I would guess he might be able to film it right after he's finished with Charlie St. Cloud, unless he's going to do Jonny Quest next. I'm assuming, if this is legit, a trade announcement will come soon clearing the details up.

Hmmm yes the pop culture details can be a bitch. Thanks for your opinion. :)

Interesting about The Sitter. I've been thinking for a while that Zac has another project lined up after CSC so I'll be curious to know if its actually this.

hmmm idk. i think if it's done right and if it's actually funny, it could be good for his career i guess.

also, what's full metal panic? i've never heard of that project... first thing i thought of was full metal alchemist haha.
