Now this is to be taken with a HUGE grain of salt because this is the same system that had him listed as being a part of that project Kent State aka Ohio. And this is also the system that lists him as participating in Full Metal Panic which, according to Zac, was just one meeting and probably won't happen.
But just for kicks, some information on who else is involved with The Sitter and what it is about.
According to IMDB Pro, it is a 20th Century Fox Film, produced by Michael de Luca and written by Brian Gatewood and Alessandro Tanaka. It is to be directed by Jonathan Levine, whose most recent credit is Sundance audience favorite, The Wackness.
According to firstshowing.net, The Sitter can be:
Described as Adventures in Babysitting meets Superbad, The Sitter follows a college student, suspended for the semester and living at home with his mom, who has a night to remember when he gets talked into baby-sitting the eccentric kids next door — two boys and a wild 8-year-old girl.
I know, another film that is essentially an 80s remake?
But I have to admit, based on this (super-spoiler-filled) review of the script, it sounds pretty funny. Instead of the protagonist going out on a rescue mission to save her best friend, the protagonist here, loser Noah, goes out on a drug-trafficking mission seeking coke for his demanding girlfriend... a girl who won't even admit (on Facebook anyway) that the two of them are in a relationship. Yeah, that's gonna end well, lol. The kids are troubled, but their problems surprisingly go against type and expectations. The parents, as per usual, are oblivious.
Dramatic roles are great, but they aren't the only way to gain respect as an actor. Zac is pretty good at playing the comedic foil, so I don't think he should neglect that. No sense not playing to established strengths. Just so long as he gets some challenges too.
I am worried whether it will come across as too much like Adventures in Babysitting, but it sounds much more depraved than that. It is one thing to get stuck having to escape a chop shop with your wards quite accidentally but another to willingly take them on a drug run.
And can he play a loser? I absolutely think so. Though I'd be willing to bet, as scripted, loser Noah is not supposed to be half as attractive as Zac is. Clearly, beautiful people can be losers at love and life too but I'm sure that's not what they had in mind. Either they can change that or they can ugly him up a bit. Maybe. LOL.
Again all this is speculation and has a very (VERY) limited chance of actually happening. But this was fun to look at.
