Locations
So a few Charlie St. Cloud locations around Vancouver have been scouted according to the twitter of one of the location managers.

The first, my favorite, is Deep Cove, BC. And apparently Zac was there today. These twitters are what spurred me to make this post:

To orient yourself, an overview map:

1) Deep Cove

Looking southwest. Deep Cove in right middleground with Vancouver in background.

Looking basically northeast over the cove:

2) Steveston

Looking southeast towards Mt. Baker:

Looking west, Vancouver Island in the distance:

3) Gibsons

I have actually been through Gibsons on my way up the Sunshine Coast.

Looking WNW towards Gambier Island:

Ferry from North Vancouver to Langdale:

4) Strait of George

This information actually comes from an application for permission to film found here.

Shot from air: Eagle Harbour Park, Eagle Island out to Passage Island:

Basically what you'd expect, a lot of water :)

This post makes me miss the Pacific Northwest even more :(

IDK, I don't think storms like that are typical in Vancouver. They aren't that typical in Seattle anyway. I mean usually it's just drizzle and occasional windstorms. But the summers are pretty dry and sunny. I think this is a continuing heat wave for the whole northwest right now so idk what that means for more lightning.

This pic is amazing.

I'm really curious what cemetery they will be using. Or if they will create something on a soundstage. If they do they'll have a lot more control over the whole situation and can film despite any weather.

I think theyd just create one on site, in addition to the soundstage.

It depends also on what tehy are willing to spend on effects. Digital matte paintings and all that...

but the more organic the better i say.

Confirming - everyone I know was OMG WTF at the thunderstorm that day. It was beautifully surreal, and I would love to hear Zac talk about it.

Also, agreed. Deep Cove is gorgeous and I'm so excited to see BC showcased some in the movie.
