Zac to star and exec produce in new thriller
Fuck if we know what it is about but god damn it, it will be SEXY!

From THR.com:

Zac Efron has signed to star in an untitled thriller for Mandate Pictures, which is being written by Leslie Dixon.

The plot is being kept under wraps but it is described as "a sexy thriller." The deal continues the evolution of Efron from the teen heartthrob of the "High School Musical" franchise to a more mature leading man, and also sees him stepping into producing shoes. He will act as executive producer with Mandate's Nathan Kahane.

Frequent Mandate collaborator Greg Shapiro of Kingsgate Films ("The Hurt Locker"), Jason Barrett, and Dixon will produce.

Nicole Brown will oversee the project for Mandate.

Efron and Dixon, a respected veteran writer whose credits include 1999's "The Thomas Crown Affair and "Freaky Friday," first worked together on "Hairspray."

No director is on board.

Efron, repped by CAA and Alchemy Entertainment, last starred in New Line's teen comedy "17 Again," which grossed almost $63 million domestically. Dixon is repped by CAA.

Explains why he was at "The Hurt Locker" prem.

I don't think JQ is happening that soon. Aside from the script revisions, they needs to attach a director (for real) and then it'll take at least another 4-6 months pre-production. JQ is a lot of remote location shooting, a lot of action etc. Even if they pick a director now, I can't see it filming before early next year.

The Facebook movie would most likely be a very quick shoot - 3 months tops because it'll be a lot in the dorm etc. Not complicated to shoot and set up. Theoretically... if they start shooting in Nov they could be done by end Jan. Of course all speculation and dreaming about Zac getting it when there is zero indication.
