Also this weekend's numbers are in. 17 Again was number 4 in the US and (a distant) number 2 in international markets.
US numbers from EW.com:
And Zac Efron's 17 Again showed surprising stamina, too, grossing an additional $6.3 million its third weekend for a total take of $48.4 million.
International numbers from HR.com:
Opening solidly in eight territories was the weekend's No. 2 title, New Line's comedy "17 Again" with Zac Efron, which generated a total of $8.3 million from 1,852 screens in 25 markets. A Spain debut produced a mighty $3.6 million from 302 sites. International cume stands at $38 million.
The movie is performing strongly internationally as I thought it would. This says a lot about Zac's international appeal. I am also pleased that 17 Again did open better than Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Both of these are good indicators of Zac's viability as a star of the future.
Now if we could just get him in Death Note, lol.
Oh and as glamour_addict mentioned in comments, Zac will now be travelling to Japan in the middle of the month for 17 Again promotion... it looks like two meet n greets have been set up, one May 14th and the other May 16th.
