OMG! Calculating distance to Austin, as we speak.
Linklater’s new film to screen at SXSW
By Chris Garcia | Saturday, March 14, 2009, 01:45 PM

The “Super Special Screening,” we hear, slated for 11 a.m. Monday at the Paramount is Richard Linklater’s “Me and Orson Welles,” starring Zac Efron and Claire Danes. Look out for the official announcement.

The movie did well at the annual Toronto film fest last year and received upbeat reviews. It’s still looking for a distributor.

OMG. Seriously how do I get tickets?

It is about a New Jersey teen who aspires to be an actor. One day he happens into a small role in Orson Welles' production of Julius Caesar at the Mercury Theater in New York City in 1937. So it is about his interactions with and observations of Welles and being in a theater production. Plus his attraction to the assistant played by Claire Danes.

It is based on a young adult story of the same name by Robert Kaplow.

The guy who plays Welles, Christian McKay, is apparently amazing in this role, a dead ringer for Orson. And a lot of people think he'd be eligible for an Oscar nomination at the very least.
