Tom Lennon talks about texting Zac, red-head girl flips out and is definition of second-hand embarrassment.

Tom Lennon re: Zac from Pop My Culture podcast

It would, of course, be awesome if Zac would work with Tom again.

Source via twitter...idk who first but ty to whomever it was :)

One other note re: Me and Orson Welles. It just played at Ebertfest and Linklater was there to talk about it. He also gave away MAOW posters and soundtracks that he made himself. He, I guess like us, wasn't too impressed with the ones the promo team made when the movie was released originally. I'm not holding my breath but it would be lovely if his poster version gets uploaded so we can see his vision for it.

From marianelatv, click for full size:

"At Dodger Stadium with Zac Efron and Charlie Tahan. They were so sweet! Make sure to check out CHARLIE ST CLOUD!"

Some twitters from the past couple of days...Collapse )

Last in that twitter list is a reference to Zac being a guest on Jimmy Kimmel on July 28. This weekend I am planning on making a schedule/contest page which I will 'sticky' on the drop down menu for y'all.

Speaking of contests, I forgot to mention it earlier but there is a new sweepstakes running on Facebook, "I <3 My Sibling". Enter and you can win a trip to Universal Orlando!

P.S. Apparently MAOW is possibly coming out on Aug. 17 (via FF).

Let's see...

A few other surfing pics were posted here... since they're kind of old now, idk I'll just post one of my favs:

From the Me and Orson Welles Facebook:

Nikki was asked in a recent interview about her Hairspray co-stars...Collapse )

A new message from Zac on the Charlie St. Cloud FBCollapse )

FB Pics from the Waitlist EventCollapse )

Also there were a lot of lulzy references to Zac and HSM on ABC's The Wipeout the other night as Zac/HSM fan Peet Montzingo competed for his chance to participate in the Wipeout Zone. I lol'd. If you want to lol too you can watch here on ABC's site. International people... it probably doesn't work, so I'm sorry in advance :(

eta: Peet running the QualifierCollapse )

One last thing... reading random twitters I can see there is definitely an increase in chatter about premiere prep and interviews, so hopefully some of those details will be revealed soon :)

From The Playlist:
Linklater admitted his disappointment with the release of "Me & Orson Welles" which almost became a self-release and then instead became a type of ignored and fumbled one. "You try go your own way and like... even the people who should be helping out they kind smell it on you," he said about the attempt of a self-release that he later backed away from. "They hear you're self-distributing, they just, it's almost like a stigma. Even though they know the film industry is fucked up, they still penalize you. They still kind of go in for the kill. They kind of treat you like, 'oh you never got a distributor, huh?' They just don't want to embrace [the idea] at all."

"It's kind of like music," he added. "Like when Prince tried to have his own label and wanted to deals with Wal-Mart and they said, 'we won't stock your records if you don't go with Warners or one of the majors. And he's Prince. and that's like anti-trust violation, but they just go, 'no, we won't stock it' cause the major labels will say, 'What are you doing? You're killing us.' "

I had a hard time deciding what of the Me and Orson Welles extras to post to youtube because I don't want to hurt dvd sales. This isn't like 17 Again, the dvd sales for MAOW are more important. At the same time, it's unlike 17 Again but in the sense that I know many people never had a chance to see it and many will have a hard time getting the dvd. So I compromised and am going to post basically the Zac parts to youtube. We all have to thank kylijah so much for getting these to me since here in the US we are deprived still :'(

The first video has the 'Making of' featurette and the deleted scenes that feature Zac:

The second is the Q&A from the Gate screening of the film. I edited it down to the Zac relevant parts:

See the original and three other shots here.

Tonight I twittered on HSM1 and 2 but tomorrow I was thinking I'd do a lj post for watching the HSM3 Disney Channel premiere. If you guys are interested, comment letting me know. If enough people will be around, I'll make a post with a feed link tomorrow afternoon/evening. Otherwise, I'll just twitter again.

I know there has been speculation on the MAOW DVD release date. Apparently Tesco in the UK will have it on April 19th. lists a release date of May 11. I'm guessing the US will be closer to the Canadian date, but I don't know if that date is at all accurate so I'm just going to stick with hoping for sooner rather than later.

Secondly, there are some new pics that popped up! IDK where they came from since they just appeared on FF with no source, but whatever, I'll take what I can get, lol.

TY too to Matt who pointed out this very interesting series of videos to me. It is of Robert Kaplow, author of Me and Orson Welles, discussing the story and movie.
