How do you think it means «with a fun ButchCassidy ending!» What could it be? :)
Very interesting and unexpected. I am very glad that Zac did it.
I wonder when will it show...

By a "Butch Cassidy ending" I would guess that they jumped off a cliff into water, which is a Zac Efron recreational specialty.

Thank you kleth. Now everything is clear. :)

What a nice surprise. :D

I wish I had been online when you found out.

Since Man vs Wild has ended a while I go, I did check what it could be and going by this:

it looks like he is on Episode 2 of a new show on NBC.

do we know what his new show is called?

Hasn't Zac broken enough bones? This Grylis guy could be a bad influence on a thrill-seeker like Zac. From the Grylis bio:

Climbed Mount Everest.

Broke his back in three places on a parachuting jump over Southern Africa.

Hosted a dinner party at a table suspended below a hot air balloon at 24,500 feet.

Is an avid skydiver.

Led the first unassisted crossing of the frozen North Atlantic Ocean in an open, rigid inflatable boat.

It looks like you're really worried about Zac :)

Why are you always so blah on zac on half your comments????
kleth on June 2nd, 2014 07:15 pm (UTC)
I thought I was being negative about Grylis as a potentially bad influence on Zac.

Zac has many admirable qualities, but he is also sometimes foolish and reckless. For example, jumping off cliffs into water. He could easily paralyze himself and leave us with nothing to talk about here. We've seen what other bad influences have done (can you say "rehab"?). So when I see Zac associating with someone who can get him excited about sky diving and that sort of thing, I am naturally anxious.

I oppose anything that will deprive the world of Zac Efron.

I had never heard of the guy and did some research. Bear is a man of faith, with spiritual and moral backbone that equals his backbone for dare-devilry. These qualities make Bear ideal as a positive role model for Zac, someone he can look up to and imitate. God knows Zac needs more men like Bear in his life right now: Hollywood is noticeably lacking in role models. Thus, he's got this Southern mama's stamp of approval, dare-devilry and all.

The adventurist component of Zac's personality is never going to go away: it's part of who he is. The way to make it a positive trait rather than a negative trait is to seek experiential highs in nature and outdoor living rather than in drugs, those "parties" of his, etc.

My son just won another award for being an outstanding kid / for service to the community, etc. He's got to go to Newton (Boston) City Council and accept it this time. He's so much better than either of his parents. He makes me ashamed of myself.

I hope that's how it works out. But I'm seeing Zac less attracted to the faith component and more to the dare-devil angle.

Oh, I don't know. Zac has a spiritual side, it's just un/under-developed. I think if he grows this side he'll find what he needs to fill that hole he spoke about in one of his interviews.
